In 1850, Peter Wilheim Miller constructed this vernacular German cottage. It was his home adjacent to his blacksmith shop that provided shoes for horses and repaired farm equipment in the 1850s and 1860s. The blacksmith shop eventually became an automobile repair shop, which was torn down in the 1950s; however, the Miller-Fiege Home still remains.
