Best Holiday River Town Finalists: Prairie du Rocher & Red Bud

River Travel Magazine announced Randolph County's Prairie du Rocher and Red Bud as finalists for their Best Holiday River Town Contest! This contest focuses compares the best "holiday towns" along the Great River Road, which spans from northern Minnesota down to the Gulf of Mexico. Hundreds nominated their favorite communities and now have the chance to vote on the winners.

Randolph County's best holiday towns beat out over 70 nominated towns to earn their place in the finals.

Judges will decide winners in categories according to population size, as well as a winner-take-all "Overall" category. Prairie du Rocher's finalist nomination in the 501-1,000 population category and Red Bud's nomination in the 1,001-5,000 population category means they've already trumped some fierce competition.

Voting for the Best Holiday River Town runs now through December 20. Winners announced on Christmas Day. Voting is free and open to the public. Just click here to cast your vote!
