The Wabash Roots'N'Que returns to Mount Carmel this Saturday and features a BBQ competition, artisan and craft vendors, and 12 hours of live music with a performance from Mel Tillis Jr! 

This day-long and free event runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and is sure to be one talked about all summer long! For those looking for some tasty BBQ, you have got to check out the Smoke On the Wabash Barbecue Competition to see 28 pitmasters making some heat. Nothing will make your mouth water like watching some meat pull apart effortlessly. Judging takes place between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. with awards starting at 2:30 p.m. Be sure to taste some of the BBQ yourself!

While the event is free, if you're looking for a tasty beverage you will have to have your I.D. and $10 ready to enter the beer garden located near the RNQ main stage. The entry fee does inclued one beverage and each additional beverage is $5.

Music on the main stage kicks off with Darla Groff Flannery from Mt. Carmel at 10 a.m. and don't miss headliner Mel Tillis Jr. and The Memory Makers at 8:30 p.m. You can even get the chance to meet the Grammy-nomminated country artist from 5-5:30 p.m. at the workshop stage near the Wabash County Museum!

Be sure to bring the whole family to the 11 a.m. instrument petting zoo with Rob Krumm and Doug Hawf located at the workshop stage at the Wabash County Museum. Other workshops include: Songwriting with The Woosleys at 11:45 a.m., Wabash Strings Ensemble classical perfomance at 2 p.m., and the Sternwheelers Irish-Celtic instruments in modern music at 4 p.m.

Other events and venders include a cornhole tournament with a raffle to win a cornhole set, JammOn Jaleigh's food truck, and cool off with a root beer float form the Wabash County Democrats' root beer stand.

The Wabash County Farmers' Market also still be going on during the event from 8 to 11 a.m. located nearby at the 300 block of Market Street in Mr. Carmel.
