Carlyle Lake Wine Trail

Begin your journey at Hidden Lake Winery in Aviston, Illinois, nestled in the serene Silent Forest. This picturesque spot offers wines influenced by the German heritage of the region's farming families, catering to a variety of palates. Indulge in a delectable food menu featuring soft pretzels, spinach artichoke dip, charcuterie boards, burgers, chicken sandwiches, salads, and more.

Next, venture to Bretz Wildlife Lodge & Winery near Carlyle Lake. Inspired by South African culture and wine, this winery boasts an open-air bar, firepits for socializing, and live entertainment. Cap off your visit with dinner options including appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, and pasta.

Conclude your day at Twelve Oaks Vineyard, conveniently nestled in Carlyle. Delight in their award-winning wines, cozy tasting room, and breathtaking countryside vistas—an idyllic setting for relaxation. Keep an eye out for their exciting calendar of must-attend events!

For accommodations, consider the Breese Inn, a charming Victorian bed and breakfast just a few miles from Carlyle Lake, offering a historic retreat.

Also on the Carlyle Lake Wine Trail, Crooked Creek Winery Vineyard, in Centralia is a must-visit. Originally from California, the owners infuse their passion for wine into every bottle. Enjoy wine tasting amidst a horse farm setting, where you can watch show horses graze in the fields.

Explore Centralia's attractions including historical museums, memorials honoring various wars, vibrant murals perfect for photo ops, and Bicentennial Park with unique wooden structures along the Canadian National Railroad line. When hunger strikes, dine at local favorites like Castle Ridge Lakefront Restaurant or Jerry's Grill & Bar.

Wabash Valley Wine Trail

Explore the enchanting Wabash Valley Wine Trail in the eastern region, beginning your journey in Jasper County at Irene’s Vineyard. Nestled in a beautiful setting, Irene’s Vineyard offers a diverse selection of nearly 20 wines to taste, including special holiday bottles perfect for Christmas time.

Continue your wine trail adventure by heading south to Berryville Vineyards in Claremont, renowned for their traditional grape and fruit wines that cater to everyone.

Next, venture to Fox Creek Vineyards in Olney, known for its unique charm and the town's famous white squirrels. Discover their extensive collection of nearly 30 wines, including a delightful sweet plum wine. For a satisfying meal and another glass of wine, Coco’s Café and Wine Bar awaits nearby.

Travel further to Lawrence County and savor the offerings at Lasata Wines, where wines made from Elderberries and varieties that pair excellently with bloody mary mix await your palate.

Wrap up your wine tasting journey at Homestead Vineyards in West Salem, where you can enjoy delicious wines amidst a picturesque barn and serene gazebos.
