MARK YOUR CALENDARS! October 26, 2024 is the 102nd PINCKNEYVILLE MARDI GRAS!

The Chamber of Commerce throws a Mardi Gras celebration like no other! This family-friendly event dates back to 1922. Unlike Mardi Gras in New Orleans, Pinckneyville holds its festivities on the last Friday and Saturday in October.

The famous Queen Pageant is held a two weeks prior to the yearly event, once a Mardi Gras Queen is crowned she enjoys her reign while attending the children’s costume parade, business trick or treat, and the costume contest on Friday.

The celebration begins again bright and early on Saturday morning where you will find a run hosted by Pyramid running club, a vendor fair stretched across Walnut street, a car show over-flowing on Mulberry Street, live entertainment, children’s games, marching band field competition, and Illinois’ oldest night-time parade featuring floats, costumed marchers, bands and more.

This event brings together both past and present community members year after year. 2023 will be the 101th Mardi Gras Celebration!
