The City of Mattoon sponsors an annual festival of holiday lights called "Mattoon Lightworks" in Peterson Park, visited by thousands each year. Free admission to this drive thru display with over 100 displays, many animated include a walk thru night on November 14th with vehicles only for the rest of the season. Enjoy this beloved Mattoon event from November 14th -December 25th, open each night at 5pm throughout the holiday season.
