The Bond County Historical Society’s Bond County Museum provides visitors with a glimpse of the county’s proud 200 year heritage. Located in a three-story turreted home built in 1900, the north parlor has Victorian period furnishings including an 1840s piano from the founders of Almira College; the reading room features the Civil War. Other rooms contain a wide variety of rotating exhibits that tell the story of Bond County’s people, architecture, and industry. Historical exhibits are changed and updated each year making for a vibrant, relevant museum. Call or email to arrange a guided tour, special group tour, or to visit during non-posted hours.
